Jon Cagan was born in the great state of Florida. Jon is sports fanatic and combines his competitive nature with his passion for the law to work tirelessly and aggressively representing his client’s interest.

Upon graduation from law school, Jon worked at the State Attorney’s Office in Bartow, Florida. After a short time as an assistant state attorney, he moved on to work as staff counsel for one of the nation’s largest insurance companies, where he handled thousands of Personal Injury Protection (“PIP”) cases among other duties and legal matters.

Jon spent time working as an associate attorney for a prestigious law firm in downtown Tampa where he represented plaintiff medical providers against the injustices of the insurance companies.

Jon enjoys the role of representing the underdog versus the vast resources of the insurance company and relishes an opportunity to fight on his client’s behalf.

Jon’s hobbies include playing basketball, bbq, and going to the beach. He is a people person and invites you to call him directly with your legal questions and concerns.

EDUCATION & COURT ADMISSIONS

Jon graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Jon was a President’s Scholarship recipient and made the Dean’s List for eight consecutive semesters.

Upon graduation from undergrad, Jon attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. Jon graduated with his Juris Doctor in 2011. While in law school Jon was a dean’s list recipient.

Jon is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts.

LEADERSHIP, MEMBERSHIP & HONORS

Jon has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2020 and 2021 and National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40.

Jon enjoys being involved in the community. He has served as the 2021 Chair of ImpactJAX the JAX Chamber’s Young Professional Group and has served as Treasurer for the Riverside Rotary Club of Jacksonville and was elected President for 2022-2023 term.

Jon was a 2021 member of theHightower Fellowship Jacksonville’s premiere young professional leadership group.

Jon also served on the Board of Directors for Tri-County Human services, which serves Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties.

Jon is currently a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association where he has participated as a mentor and mock trial coach for Ribault Future Lawyers program.

FAMILY

Jon is married to his wife Amanda who have two children, Benjamin and Ella. He was born to Lenny and Peggy Cagan and has two sisters, Cara and Erin as well as a brother, Stephen.
